Response 3: Abby’s Blog post #2

Hi Abby, great blog post!

I really liked your insights on how multimedia resources enrich educational experiences. I believe you are completely correct in saying that by using various factors like images, audio,  and interactive elements, creates an environment more suitable for a wider array of learning styles. I also especially liked your reference to “CrashCourse” as its one of my favourite channels on YouTube which I find to be very educational. Additionally, I agree that animations play a huge role in capturing our attention, but I feel as though the detail is more than a lot of people, including myself, realize. People refine their videos so much that its almost that every inch of the screen has a purpose and intertwine to create an orchestra of engagement.

Thanks,

Aiden

Response 2: Jayden’s Blog post #2

Hi Jayden, fantastic blog post!

Your blog is so organized and has so much sustenance, I really enjoyed reading it! I found what resonated with me most was your comments on what your two major benefits from online learning were. Firstly, you mentioned how it lessened your financial burden by allowing you to maintain a steady work schedule thus earning a greater income. Similarly, through the course of university I have had to take a lot of time off work and found myself struggling to make ends meet, however when choosing an asynchronous course such as EDCI, I have been able to work a lot more each week resulting in a larger paystub, which has allowed me to do more activities outside of work/school.

Thanks,

Aiden

Response 1: Jag’s Blog post #2

Hi Jag, very interesting blog post!

Your comments on behaviorism are quite insightful. I believe we can see the productiveness of reinforcement and feedback in all realms of society whether that be in training a dog, raising a child, learning a new skill, or as you stated in your blog post helping with education by providing immediate feedback through activities like quizzes and automated feedback systems. I can also specifically relate to your comments on Duolingo as I’m currently using it to help me better understand the Italian language. Initially I had tried to look up various YouTube videos and books to help me but eventually I came across Duolingo, and it made all the difference. The accessibility and use of repetition made me learn much quicker and completely changed my behavior towards learning this language. Similarly, to what you outline in your blog, the behaviourism involved with Duolingo provided me with an easy to memorize tool and has opened my eyes into what is truly possible through digital learning

Thanks,

Aiden
